Huge blast rocks Kabul’s diplomatic district

Dozens of people taken to hospital after massive blast goes off in the heart of the Afghan capital’s diplomatic area.

A suicide car bomb attack in the heart of Kabul’s diplomatic district has wounded at least 60 people, according to Afghan officials.

Sources said the explosion on Wednesday took place near Zanbaq square, in the Afghan capital’s 10th district.

Najib Danish, deputy spokesperson for the interior ministry, told Al Jazeera that at least 30 vehicles in the area had been destroyed in the suicide car bomb attack.

Waheed Majroh, a spokesman for the Afghan health ministry, told Al Jazeera that at least 60 people were taken to hospital after the blast.
